| Jessica Hardwick
Jessica Hardwick brings a passion for barter and more than 15 years of high-technology experience to her latest challenge at SwapThing. Her goal is to greatly increase the incidence of barter by making it faster, easier and accessible to everyone. The idea was born when a sick kitty and lack of funds necessitated a swap deal with an accounting-challenged veterinarian. SwapThing was designed to make barter as easy as auctioning or purchasing on the Internet, giving the consumers a chance to leverage what they have into what they want without spending a lot of money. SwapThing was also designed to help service providers fill downtime and gain new customers. Prior to founding SwapThing, Jessica was Founder and CEO of Geek2Chic.com, a content/e-commerce web site dedicated to forming an online community based on a broad range of interests. She directed the company's growth to nearly 30 employees and five million monthly hits. Ms. Hardwick began her career in sales support and customer support before moving to Silicon Graphics, where she served in a series of increasingly responsible positions, including Developer Programs Manager and Internet Alliance Manager. In the latter position, Jessica managed strategic relationships with more than 200 global Internet partners. She later was Director of Partner Programs at RightPoint and Senior Partner Marketing Manager at PrimeResponse. A native of Scotland, Jessica holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Santa Clara University. |
