Chip
Salzenberg
Chip Salzenberg
has been programming with and inside Perl for twelve
years. He was release coordinator for, and the primary contributor
to, Perl 5.004. Chip is now working on Topaz, a rewrite of Perl in
C++, which he plans to demonstrate at the Open Source 2000 conference.
Chip is presently a board member and officer of The Open Source
Initiative, which promotes and facilitates the spread of Open Source
software. His most recent OSI activity was speaking and teaching at
LinuxWorld in Singapore. He is an instructor and presenter annually
at both the O'Reilly Perl Conference and the LinuxWorld Expo.
Chip's past projects included support services for Perl users through
PerlSupport.com, as well as Perl training in cooperation with both
Stonehenge Consulting and Tom Christiansen Perl Consultantancy. He
has written Perl training courses and many articles for The Perl
Journal. He is also working on a book project with O'Reilly
(surprise!).
Chip's day job is being "The Perl Guy" at VA Linux Systems, Inc.,
which involves both internal projects and Open Source community
support.
